It's that time of year. Parents of high school seniors and current college students have "do the FAFSA" on their list. Nope, it's not the latest dance craze.It's the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid and it should be filled out now. It doesn't matter if you haven't yet done your taxes. Submit now and then update it after you've completed your taxes. Why the rush? Some of the money available to give to families to help pay for college is first come-first served. In other words, if you're too late to the dance you may be out of luck.

If the idea of completing the FAFSA is intimidating and overwhelming, don't despair. The form is online and should only take 30-60 minutes to complete. Gather your materials together and begin. If you still need some assistance, here are some resources:
